On-duty NYPD officers 'handcuffed 18-year-old girl, took her to deserted spot and raped her...

An 18-year-old girl says two NYPD officers raped her after arresting her, according to reports... Two detectives and their supervisor have been stripped of their badges and guns while the NYPD Internal Affairs’ Bureau’s investigation is ongoing, according to the New York Daily News. The young woman said in a statement: “I’m completely brutalized by the rape. Now every time I see any police, I’m in a panic.” She says she was driving in the Coney Island area of New York with two friends, when they were pulled over by police on suspicion of possessing illegal substances. According to her attorney, Michael David, she was handcuffed and driven by the police officers to a secluded spot where they forced her to perform sex acts on them. The young woman says she sought treatment in a New York hospital after the incident, which took place in September. The officers in question did not deny the sexual acts occurred, but both claimed they were consensual, according to the New York Daily News. “We’re aware of the allegations, and Internal Affairs is conducting an investigation into certain members of Brooklyn South narcotics,” a spokesperson for the New York Police Department said.

Universal Hip Hop Museum, Hip Hop Hall of Fame compete to open first in the Bronx

Two separate organizations are duking it out to create the city’s first hip hop museum, DNAinfo reports. The news follows just a month after we learned that the Universal Hip Hop Museum had finally found itself a home in a new Bronx affordable housing complex, Bronx Point..... The Museum’s competitor, The Hip Hop Hall of Fame, announced this past summer that it was closing in on a site at 125th Street to build the Hall of Fame, along with a hotel, and shops. Now both organizations are competing to open first, and both claim they are the city’s first hip hop museum. That being said, neither project is actually set in stone. The Universal Hip Hop Museum, on its part, has a ton of city backing. It’s located on a site that was identified for development by the city’s Economic Development Corporation, and it has the backing of the local community board, the Bronx Borough President, and the City Planning Commission. However, it is still going through the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP), and needs final approval from the City Council. The Hall of Fame meanwhile hasn’t actually finalized a deal on its space. The founder of the organization told DNAinfo that they are in final negotiations on a plot of land, and are hoping to close by the end of the year. If everything does fall in place, the Hall of Fame certainly does have a shorter construction timeline. They hope to break ground at the end of next year, and open in late 2020 or early 2021. The Universal Hip Hop Museum however won’t open until 2022. The museums might be duking it out to open first, but for hip hop lovers two separate spaces can only mean good things.

Halle Berry Love This Jewelry Trend...

There are many classic jewelry looks having a moment in the spotlight right now—hoop earrings and circle pendants, to name a couple.   While it's true these forever pieces will never go out of style, there seems to be a collective gravitation toward these items this season. One such fan of the latter look is none other than Halle Berry. While heading to a TV appearance in NYC, the iconic actress sported a breezy, plunging minidress accessorized with strappy gold heels and—one very key detail, in our opinion—a collection of long, dangling pendants. This ensemble is just one of many ways to incorporate the necklace style—it looks equally alluring with a T-shirt and jeans and other casual wares. Of course if it's Halle-approved, that's reason enough to give it a go.
