STEVE HARVEY’S TALK SHOW CANCELED; REPLACED BY ‘THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW’

*Steve Harvey just lost his long-running talk show at NBC to pop star Kelly Clarkson... The former ‘American Idol’ winner and ‘The Voice’ coach will be launching her very own talk show, ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ this fall — and it’ll take over Steve’s slot after seven seasons. “The incomparable Kelly Clarkson takes everything she touches to another level and we couldn’t be happier to bring her talent, humor, generosity and compassion to daytime next year,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative & Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “With Kelly’s cross-generational appeal and extraordinary ability to understand and connect with viewers, The Kelly Clarkson Show will have something for everyone.” The new daytime talker starring Grammy-winner Clarkson is described as a fun, energetic show that breaks with tradition. Each episode will feature stories, celebrity guests, surprises, humor and music. “I love connecting with people, playing games, music and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organizations,” Clarkson said. “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!” Other stations from the NBC Station Group that will air The Kelly Clarkson Show as a lead-in for Ellen (DeGeneres show) include WCAU Philadelphia, KXAS Dallas-Fort Worth, KNTV San Francisco, WRC Washington DC, WTVJ Miami, KNSD San Diego and WVIT Hartford. The new show will also air in Boston on NBC-owned station WBTS in a different slot. The 11 NBC owned stations cover nearly 30% of U.S. households. “We are very excited to have Kelly Clarkson on our air next fall,” said Valari Staab, President, NBCUniversal Owned TV Stations. “She’s genuine, warm, fun and interacts with her fans in a meaningful way. John Wick 3 Has Officially Cast Halle Berry And More

The last we saw our favorite retired hitman and puppy avenger John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 2, he was in a world of trouble, having been declared officially excommunicado from the Continental and dealing with a global contract out on his head. When it releases next year, John Wick: Chapter 3 will pick up after the events of the last film and find Keanu Reeves' character facing countless threats with no sanctuary to turn to. Joining the action franchise this time around is Halle Berry. The Oscar-winning actress took to social media to confirm her role in the film, check it out: I am Sofia ? #johnwick3 @rikerbrothers A post shared by Halle Berry (@halleberry) on May 21, 2018 at 9:29am PDT We had heard that John Wick: Chapter 3 was eyeing Halle Berry for the female lead, but it is nice to finally get that official confirmation from the actress herself. We don't know much at this point other than that her character will be named Sofia and that she reportedly won't be the film's villain, suggesting she could be an ally for John Wick and potentially even a new love interest. Halle Berry is, of course no stranger to the action genre, having starred as a Bond girl in Die Another Day and just last year in the more comic-booky spy film Kingsman: The Golden Circle. But Halle Berry isn't the only talented actor being added to the cast for this next chapter either, as Angelica Huston and Asia Kate Dillon are also joining John Wick 3.

Black Panther Is Officially a $1 Billion Hit

“Black Panther” can’t stop, won’t stop making money at the box office.... Ryan Coogler’s take on the beloved Marvel character grossed nearly $1.08 billion at the global box office in just four weeks, according to estimates published Sunday by Box Office Mojo. It is Disney’s 16th movie to make $1 billion or more, Deadline reported. Four other Marvel Cinematic Universe releases have hit that mark: “The Avengers,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Iron Man 3″ and “Captain America: Civil War.” But no other Marvel movie has sat atop the box office for four weeks in a row since premiering, according to Box Office Mojo. Domestically, “Black Panther” has grossed $562 million, making it the No. 7 movie of all time in North America when not adjusted for inflation and surpassing “The Dark Knight” to become the second-highest-grossing superhero movie in the United States. While the Wakandan warrior king dominated in the United States, many were eager to see how the movie would fare in some of the biggest global markets. Well, “Black Panther” sat atop of the box office in China and grossed an estimated $22.7 million during its Friday premiere. By Sunday, it had grossed an estimated $66.5 million. And in the process, “Black Panther” bucked any old industry notion that films starring black people are inherent commercial risks in the Asian nation. He added: “It still humbles me to think that people care enough to spend their money and time watching our film.” Here are some other feats accomplished by “Black Panther”: The biggest February release to date, even after adjusting for inflation. The second-highest-grossing Marvel Cinematic Universe movie at the domestic box office. (“Marvel’s The Avengers” occupies the top spot, with $623 million). Tied with “Jurassic World” as the second-fastest movie to reach $400 million at the domestic box office. Both movies hit that mark in 10 days. Only “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” did that faster (in eight days). Made nearly $112 million during its second weekend at the domestic box office, placing it just behind the 2015 Star Wars installment as having the best sophomore weekend ever. The highest-grossing movie with a black director, according to Fandango, even after adjusting for inflation. Has a 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, the highest of any comic-book superhero movie. According to Fandango, joins “The Avengers” as the only comic-book superhero movie with a perfect rating on CinemaScore, which polls moviegoers on opening night.

Jordan Peele is the first African-American to win the best original screenplay Oscar

Jordan Peele has earned a place in the Oscar history books... The 39-year-old, who made his name in sketch comedy, won best original screenplay for Get Out at Sunday's awards - making him the first black screenwriter to receive the honour. "I just won an Oscar. WTF?!?" tweeted Jordan Peele after receiving the best original screenplay award for Get Out. "I stopped writing this movie about 20 times... I thought it was impossible. I thought it wasn't going to work." He wasn't the only one to express both astonishment and delight at seeing his satirical horror film recognised. "This just made my night," tweeted actor Josh Gad, calling Peele's win "unbelievably well deserved". Oprah Winfrey, meanwhile, said she was "so happy and proud" to see the star recognised for his first film as writer-director. Others to congratulate Peele on his success included the actors Jeffrey Wright and Terry Crews. The latter sent his congratulations via his Brooklyn Nine Nine co-star (and Peele's wife) Chelsea Peretti. Keegan-Michael Key, who starred with Peele in the Comedy Central show Key & Peele, was photographed at an Oscars viewing party yelling with delight at his comedy partner's win. LEATHERFACE Trailer (2017) Texas Chainsaw Massacre Prequel......

‘Leatherface’: First NSFW Trailer for the ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Prequel Is Bathed in Blood...... Get ready to revisit the Texas Chainsaw Massacre mythology with Leatherface, the new horror film that returns to the origin of the infamous killer. The film’s first trailer teases just what sort of movie fans of the franchise are in for. I say “teases” because this first look is really just a collection of creepy scenes that should be familiar–a mask made of human skin, bloody violence, Sawyer Family dinners, etc.–though with contemporary changes afforded by modern effects work and an all-new cast. The story is secondary to the gore in this trailer, but here’s the gist of it: Four escaped mental inmates, played by Jessica Madsen, Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, and James Bloor, get the bloody party started by kidnapping a young nurse (Vanessa Grasse). They’re pursued by local law enforcement, played by Finn Jones and Stephen Dorff; the latter plays Hal Hartman, a deranged Texas Ranger on a mission of revenge against the killer who will become known as Leatherface. And what would a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie be without the Sawyer Family? Keep an eye out for Lili Taylor, whoo stars as the cannibalistic matriarch, Verna. Leatherface, directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, is rated R “for strong bloody violence, disturbing images, language and some sexuality/nudity.” Leatherface will enjoy an exclusive DirecTV release on September 21th, with a limited theatrical run and full VOD release through Lionsgate on October 20th.

Sylvester Stallone Announces He Will Direct Michael B. Jordan in ‘Creed 2’

Sylvester Stallone announced on Instagram that he will be directing “Creed 2.” “Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year … One more Round!,” wrote Stallone..... Stallone has previously said he had completed writing the first draft of the script for “Creed 2” and hinted he is bringing back Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago character (and presumedly his offspring) from “Rocky 4.” Last month Stallone also announced production would begin in 2018, although distributor MGM told Variety the project was still in development. In addition to writing and starring in the original “Rocky,” Stallone had directed four of the previous sequels, including “Rocky Balboa” — made 30 years after the original, when Stallone was 60 years old — which was assumed to bring closure to the successful franchise. Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year ... One more Round ! #creed2 #mgm #fighting #workout #exercise #boxing A post shared by Sly Stallone (@officialslystallone) on Oct 9, 2017 at 5:59pm PDT Close to a decade later, writer/director Ryan Coogler — fresh of the success of his Sundance breakout “Fruitvale Station” — convinced Stallone to come back as Rocky. Ryan Coogler’s “Creed” was one of the smartest, most original franchise reboots to come out of Hollywood. Focusing on the estranged son (Jordan) of the late Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) — Rocky’s greatest opponent turned best friend — Coogler reinvented the mentor-boxer relationship at the heart of the “Rocky” films, while telling an African American boxing story in a franchise that was rooted in the lore of “The Great White Hope.” In addition to being a box office success, “Creed” also gave Stallone an incredible acting opportunity, as he went into the 2015 Academy Awards the favorite to win the Best Support Actor award, which went to Mark Rylance (“Bridge of Spies”). For his part, Coogler has become one of the busiest and most sought after directors in Hollywood since the success of “Creed.” While the buzz on his summer Marvel film “Black Panther” is off the charts, he is also preparing “Wrong Answer,” which will star Jordan and is based on script written by nonfiction author Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Chan first starred alongside Chris Tucker in the buddy cop action comedy in 1998 with the duo returning for two more sequels in 2001 and 2007. With ten years now passed since their last on-screen union, Chan has some good news for fans - the fourth installment's script has been written. “For the last seven years, we've been turning down the script, turning down the script,” Chan told Power 106's The Cruz Show, adding: “Yesterday, we just agreed.” He continued: “The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, [we'll] probably start. If... Chris Tucker agrees.” According to producer Arthur Sarkissian, however, Chan needn't worry; he previously claimed that Tucker was “on board,” adding: “He said he would love to do it.” The Rush Hour films - all directed by Brett Ratner - follow a pair of police detectives and the series of misadventures they find themselves embroiled in.
