Sylvester Stallone In Line To Take On Mexican Cartel In ‘Rambo 5’

It’s seemingly not over until it’s over for Vietnam vet John Rambo. Sylvester Stallone is set to return for a fifth installment in the Rambo franchise, I understand. There were whispers he may also direct but that doesn’t seem to be the case. While Stallone’s participation hasn’t been confirmed by reps, Avi Lerner’s Millennium is launching sales on the project in Cannes with a tentative shoot date set for September of this year. Stallone is understood to be working on the script and his Expendables collaborator Lerner will produce. In the fifth episode of the franchise, when the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, crosses the U.S.-Mexican border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels. The lucrative Rambo franchise launched in 1982 with First Blood and a fifth installment has been mooted for some time, despite the actor previously expressing reservations about a return. Stallone, who starred in and directed the last episode of the series in 2008, is currently working on Creed II. UK trade Screen International first broke the news.

The iconic actor confirmed a script for the fourth installment has been completed.... Jackie Chan has revealed that a fourth entry in the Rush Hour series is closer than we think. With ten years now passed since their last on-screen union, Chan has some good news for fans - the fourth installment's script has been written. “For the last seven years, we've been turning down the script, turning down the script,” Chan told Power 106's The Cruz Show, adding: “Yesterday, we just agreed.” He continued: “The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, [we'll] probably start. If... Chris Tucker agrees.” According to producer Arthur Sarkissian, however, Chan needn't worry; he previously claimed that Tucker was “on board,” adding: “He said he would love to do it.” The Rush Hour films - all directed by Brett Ratner - follow a pair of police detectives and the series of misadventures they find themselves embroiled in. The franchise's combined global box office gross is $850.6m
