Serena Williams is unfazed about Maria Sharapova’s unhealthy obsession with her. She has better things to worry about, like just giving birth to a future Wimbledon star.
The tennis champion unveiled the name of her new blessing on Instagram today along with a very intimate photo. World, welcome Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. She’s beautiful, the post introducing her to the internet is beautiful, but the video Williams uploaded about her journey to motherhood might be our favorite.
In it, Williams and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, bring us along during the months leading up to the birth, from the moment the couple found out they were pregnant and the ultrasound to Serena winning the Australian Open while eight weeks pregnant. They shared details about baby Alexis, too, like the fact that she moves at 10:15 and 10:30 every night and enjoys dancing. Tidbits about the parents are revealed to the newborn baby also, like when Serena tells the camera, “Your dad is a real nerd.” Or when Alexis captions a video of Serena with “Your mother is the most beautiful woman on earth.” It’s all so perfect and moving and wonderful.
And suddenly, on September 13 at 10am EST, every person in America was struck with baby fever. Congrats to the lovely couple on their new precious gift.
